Addressing Climate Crisis

Rebuild Kerala initiative included distributing basic requirements to over 4000 beneficiaries, including warm clothing, packed food, hygiene products, child care materials and education materials.

As a part of the intervention, we also encouraged families and children to plant oxy-bamboo shoots, not only to bring back the soil’s fertility but to also ensure that they were able to actively neutralise their carbon footprint.

A follow up activity to the Rebuild Kerala initiative a few months later, was to encourage children to recognise the issues around them from a civic and social perspective, and host their own Balasabha or ‘Children’s Parliament.’ 4200 children participated in this, with 500 of them representing them and raising these concerns with their local MPs, seeking solutions that could be implemented. This also came under the umbrella of our #MeTheChange campaign
