Vocational Training Unit

As a part of our Daffodils programme, our Vocational Training department regularly recognises children and families who can be trained towards financial independence, whilst also supporting the sustenance of H2O.

  • The Horticulture Department started off as a therapy unit under our programme and soon turned into a financial empowerment scheme run by us. Under this, beneficiaries and their families are given saplings of various vegetables, easily cultivable in their backyards. Once cultivated, families are encouraged to use these home-grown vegetables for their personal nutrition and health, while the rest is collected by H2O and sold in the markets. All proceeds of this go to the bank accounts created exclusively for each of our beneficiaries.
  • The Training Unit itself takes the support of parents and students to create in-house products, such as soaps, cleaning liquids and merchandise – which are sold to our visitors and supporters from across the world. These products generate income for H2O, part of which goes to these parents and children, while also allowing our beneficiaries to experience a sense of responsibility and ownership of the effort put in by them.
  • Many of our beneficiaries have now, after therapies, gone onto start a small but lucrative life of their own. XYZ helps his father to run his small photo studio. ABC is a support staff at H2O working with the younger beneficiaries. LMN and PQR work with our vocational training units to describe and sell our products to prospective buyers. All of them are Autistic and have an additional form of ADHD/CP or behavioural differences as well. These are our true impact stories – these are the benchmarks we build for ourselves, to ensure that every disabled beneficiary of the organisation, can find their own way in life, after and beyond H2O.
